A fortunate childhood spent travelling to and from Africa and other destinations led to an incurable travel bug, which saw Alexander Stewart embark on a continued quest to see what else lay beyond his back door. He wrote his first guidebook more than a decade ago and has since produced numerous titles for a variety of publishers, on destinations all around the world. He has written about many of these places for national newspapers and specialist travel magazines including Adventure Travel, Travel Africa, Traveller and Wanderlust. When not managing or tinkering with travel websites as a displacement technique, he still travels extensively, with Peru something of a first love and a place to which he frequently returns.
