Carole French was first bitten by the travel bug as a child; one of her favourite activities was packing for family holidays, weeks in advance. In those days it was a beach holiday in the UK; now she travels the world as a freelance travel journalist and author in search of inspirational stories and lifestyles. Carole, a BBC-trained journalist who has worked and travelled extensively in the Middle East, as well as Europe, Asia and the Caribbean, divides her time between homes in the eastern Mediterranean and the UK. Along with Bradt Travel Guides, her clients include ABTA and the BBC.
