Donald Greig has worked or written for most of the major UK and international travel publishing companies in the UK and Australia and was for seven years managing director of Bradt Travel Guides before returning to his native Scotland. He continues to work with publishers, and also to write travel and walking guides – including co-authoring Bradt’s Dumfries & Galloway (Slow Travel) – as well as magazine and newspaper articles. A passionate supporter of rural life, he also works with Southern Uplands Partnership rural development charity (focusing on the implications of changing patterns of land use on the social, cultural, environmental and economic life of Scotland’s central-southern uplands) and the membership organisation Scottish Land and Estates. Through Dumfries and Galloway Council, he is also involved with the development of the new Rhins of Galloway Coastal Path.
