Juliet Rix (julietrix.com) is an award-winning travel writer, journalist, editor, author and broadcaster. She began her career at the BBC – in television and then radio, including as a foreign correspondent in southeast Asia, before going freelance. She writes on travel for The Daily Telegraph, The Times, Wanderlust and others, and broadcasts occasionally for BBC Radio. She is the author of two books for adults (including Bradt’s travel guidebook to Malta) and two for children (most recently, Travels with my Granny). In 2022, she won a British Society of Magazine Editors award for her editorship of Tonic magazine (which combines drink, travel and adventure). She shares travel insights as a lecturer for cultural tour operator Martin Randall Travel and leads tours for Kirker. As well as travel, Juliet writes on art, heritage and health, and has sat on health-related professional tribunals and two government scientific advisory committees (as a lay member).
