Kate Simon has been a writer and editor since the 1980s, working for a variety of national newspapers, magazines and websites. She was travel editor of the Independent on Sunday from 2005 to 2012 and continues to write for the paper, as well as other titles including the Daily Telegraph, Guardian and the London Evening Standard. Kate occasionally teaches travel writing and was a judge of the Independent on Sunday/Bradt Travel Writing Competition for several years. In 2016, Kate wrote her first book, co-authoring Lonely Planet’s How to Pack for any Trip. She is also the co-author of Bradt’s guide Cheshire (Slow Travel). These days, Kate’s main focus is Traveltappers, a specialist SEO PR agency for the travel industry, of which she is a co-founder.
