Roger Norum is a social anthropologist and travel journalist with extensive experience writing on the people and societies of the Arctic. He has authored guidebooks to Norway, Finland and Denmark, and regularly contributes to a range of travel publications. Roger won the silver medal for Travel Writer of the Year in 2010 from the British Guild of Travel Writers. He currently holds the positions of Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Leeds and Teaching Fellow in Norwegian at University College London. He holds a doctorate in Social Anthropology from the University of Oxford, and previously read Near Eastern Studies at Cornell University. Roger is fluent in Norwegian, Russian and Finnish.
