Bio
Sarah Irving is a freelance writer on social and environmental issues and the Middle East. She first
visited Palestine and Israel in 1996, and since 2001 has worked there as a human rights observer, tour guide, fair trade goods purchaser and writer. Sarah also runs http://www.palestineguesthouse.com, a website promoting community tourism and ecotourism initiatives in the West Bank and Palestinian
communities in Israel. She is the author (with Sharyn Lock) of Gaza: Beneath the Bombs (Pluto 2010) and of a forthcoming book on Leila Khaled. She lives in Manchester, England.
