Suzanne King has worked as a journalist since the 1980s, writing and editing for a wide range of well-known publications and websites. She spent many years alternating jobs on the features desks of national magazines with extended periods of backpacking around Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa and the Americas, before coming to her senses and realising that her career and her passion for travel could be one and the same thing. Since then, she’s worked as a freelance travel writer and editor, and has been published everywhere from National Geographic Traveller and Conde Nast Traveller to Grazia and Cosmopolitan, as well as reviewing dozens of hotels across Cheshire, the Peak District and Denmark for Telegraph Travel. A member of the British Guild of Travel Writers, King’s previous books include Bradt’s guide Cheshire (Slow Travel) and a guide to round-the-world backpacking for beginners.
