Tamara Thiessen is a freelance journalist and photographer from Australia, working on newspapers, magazines, guidebooks and illustrated book titles on four continents. After two decades working in news, current affairs and programme production for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, SBS World News, Deutsche Welle Radio and European Parliament Radio Reports, she now spends most of her time travelling and writing about foreign places, lifestyle and culture. As a France-based correspondent, she has written for newspapers including the Toronto Globe & Mail, Montreal Gazette, Sydney Morning Herald, Melbourne Age, Sunday Business Post (Ireland), South China Morning Post and Singapore Straits Times. Amid constant globetrotting, her travel-inspired reports and photographs have been published in many magazines, including National Geographic Traveller (UK), Business Traveller, Condé Nast Traveller, Islands Magazine, Monocole, Sport Diver, Hotel News Now, and the in-flight publications of Qantas, US Airways, Delta Airlines, Air Emirates, SN Brussels, Jet Star, easyJet, LAN Airlines and Air Jordan. A contributing writer and photographer to the Eyewitness Travel Guides to Australia, France and Italy, and Style City Europe, she is author and photographer of Café Life Sydney, Café Life Vienna (due in late 2012) and Museyon Guides Chronicles of Rome (2012). Tamara has fully updated and re-edited this third edition of her guidebook.
