If you’ve ordered a print book from anywhere except the EU then it will be dispatched from our office in Chesham, Bucks (just above Costa Coffee on the High Street if you know Chesham). You should get a couple of automated confirmation emails – one to let you know we’ve got your order, then another from Royal Mail to say the books are on their way, with a tracking number.
Orders from the EU
Orders for print books from within the European Union are now dispatched from our warehouse in the Netherlands so there won’t be any import duties to pay. You’ll just get one confirmation email for these.
However our gift items (the travel journals and Bradt tote bags) will all be dispatched from our UK office so there may be duty to pay on these.
Office opening hours
The Bradt office is now CLOSED for the Christmas and New Year break and we’ll be reopening on 2nd January. Orders for print books and gift items ordered in our Boxing Day sale will be processed then.
Our office is normally open 9.00-2.00 Monday-Thursday. Orders will usually be dispatched the following working day.
How long will it take for my book(s) to arrive?
- UK, Isle of Man and Channel Islands: up to 5 working days
- EU (incl Republic of Ireland): usually with 5-7 days but may take up to 2 weeks
- Rest of the World: usually within 2 weeks, but may sometimes take longer. Royal Mail’s delivery aim is 5-7 working days worldwide.
If we don’t have your book in stock for whatever reason, there may be a longer delay but we’ll advise you of that when we pick up your order.
If you need your book more quickly than this, then please get in touch and we’ll do the best we can.
How do I get in touch?
If you have any queries at all about your order, you can email us at [email protected] or telephone +44 (0)1753 893444. If you ring during our normal office hours, Monday-Thursday, you will usually get to speak to a real human being straight away.
Outside office hours, or if we can’t get to the phone for whatever reason, you can leave us a message and we’ll aim to get back to you on the next working day.
How much will postage cost?
- UK, Isle of Man and Channel Islands: Free shipping on all orders over £30. Otherwise, £3.60 for first item + £1.00 for each additional item in each shipment.
- EU (incl Republic of Ireland): between £7.50-£12.00 for the first item (see country list below) + £2.00 for each additional item in each shipment.
- Rest of the World: £15.00 for first item + £8.00 for each additional item in each shipment.
Charges for 1st item in Europe:
£7.50: Bulgaria, Germany, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Sweden
£8.50: Belgium, Czechia, France, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain
£9.50: Austria, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Norway, Republic of Ireland, Slovenia
£12.00: Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Finland, Greece, Iceland, North Macedonia, Serbia, Switzerland, Turkiye
These charges are added automatically at checkout.
Pre-orders
If your order includes a pre-order (for a book which is not yet published) then we’ll hang on to the whole order until that book is published. If you want your other books to be dispatched immediately then just let us know. We’ll probably need to advise you of an extra postage charge in that case, as postage is calculated per shipment.
Returns
Ordered the wrong guide? Wasn’t what you expected? We operate a 30-day returns guarantee so you can buy with confidence. Return your book in its original condition within 30 days of receipt and we’ll issue a full refund for the price you paid including the basic cost of postage.
Unfortunately, we’re unable to refund any enhanced delivery charges you have requested or your costs of returning the book to us.
