Caroline Mills (carolinemills.net) has been a freelance travel writer and author since the early 2000s and, in 2025, celebrated more than 35 years in publishing. Writing for UK national newspapers, magazine and websites, she specialises in UK and European travel, focusing on the countryside and rural locations. A member of the British Guild of Travel Writers and Society of Authors, she has authored or contributed to ten books, including Bradt’s The Cotswolds (Slow Travel), an Inspire Global Media Awards finalist for Travel Book of the Year 2025, Camping Road Trips UK (British Guild of Travel Writers Travel Guidebook of the Year 2023) and Camping Road Trips France & Germany, plus The Camping Pocket Bible. Mills grew up and has lived in the Cotswolds for more than 50 years, inspiring her to also write Bradt’s This is Not My Land (a narrative about life on a Cotswolds farm).
