Tim Skelton has travelled extensively around the globe for more than a third of a century. In all he has spent more than five years on the road, visiting 80 countries to date on every continent bar Antarctica. He settled permanently in the Netherlands in the mid-1990s, where he worked for the Dutch energy and environment agency. Now a freelance travel journalist, he has written for numerous expat, energy and in-flight publications, has contributed to travel guides to the Netherlands and Belgium, and is a former finalist in the Bradt/Independent on Sunday travel-writing competition. He has been a fan of and regular visitor to Luxembourg for more than 35 years: living just a two-hour drive away, he takes the opportunity to travel there whenever he can.
